To start things off, I thought I'd share a couple of my favorite DIY accessory projects with you - well the links to them anyway! I love DIY clothing/accessories as its often much cheaper than quenching my fashion addiction by going to a store and buying something at a 200% mark-up. Besides, how many of you have gone shopping and thought, "Its how much? But I could make something like this!" (Though how many of us actually go home and make those things).
Well now here is your chance to show off your handy-work!
This first one is one of my favorites. Its a braided headband made out of yarn (pretty much any thick yarn you can get at JoAnn's or another store like it). Its really comfy and actually keeps your head pretty warm for winter. The creator of this project chose to make hers out of a cranberry-colored yarn (fantastic for fall and winter), however I made mine out of white/ivory yarn -- better for all seasons.
Also, I added an ivory button over the section where the two ends of the braid connect as my hand-sewing job wasn't very attractive. You can't see it in the picture here as that section is sitting at the nape of my neck.
Here is the link for instructions on how to try it out for yourself!

This next project is very similar but a little more colorful and summery! They also add a colorful elastic strap to the back/ends to make the headband expandable (as this fabric isn't going to be stretchy like the yarn used for the previous braided headband).

This next one is actually a video tutorial on how to make 4 different types of headbands. These girls are great at being crafty and keepin' things simple -- which makes my type of projects!
Here are some pictures from the video tutorial. I love the little pink flower headband...and the simple lace headband. Very shabby-chic/boho. Love it!

This one is really neat! I've seen so many necklaces like this all over the place and they all range from like $15-$35. Lame. Well here are some instructions on how to make a custom one for yourself!
So creative! Fabulous ^.^

Now this last project is for people who are up to a little more in-depth project and own a sewing machine (or have access to one). This girl is very clever and all of her sample dresses are really adorable. I particularly adore this white one -- I can never pass up a white summer dress!

Now, just to clarify, I don't claim credit for any of these projects. Though I have made my own versions of most of them, I was not clever enough to create them first! So props to these girls!
Well I hope you all enjoy these DIY projects! I seem to have a hard time finding quality ones on the internet or coming up with new ideas. If anyone has any DIY projects they really enjoy or think might be great, let me know! I'd love to try them out.
Enjoy!
